Working from home
Working at home, home work, starting a home based business, work at home for yourself

Thinking of starting a business and want to work from home? There are many advantages of being able to work at home ... freedom, choice, flexibility (especially with childcare), the opportunity to do something you've always wanted to do, maybe no ceiling on income, etc. Some disadvantages too ... no regular salary, no sick leave, no sick pay, constant uncertainty, long hours, bookkeeping and accounts, tax, VAT, etc. Many well-known businesses started work at home, often in the garage. Apple Computer and Hewlett Packard both started life in a garage at home.

There are some major benefits though to working for yourself being able to work at home - every penny or cent you earn is the result of your own efforts, which builds confidence and esteem in a way no salaried position can. But perhaps the greatest benefit of a home based business is that you no longer have to work for or report to an inadequate or incompetent boss. Many people who leave their job because of bullying end up being self-employed and working from home, either by choice or by circumstance. Although the work is hard and the hours long, the satisfaction can be great. Many people who are bullied out of their job end up working from home and doing something which is much more fulfilling, albeit financially precarious.

If you've left the rat race because you've been bullied out - and this includes redundancy, early retirement, ill-health retirement, burn out, constructive dismissal and unfair dismissal - you may still be recovering from the injury to health caused by prolonged negative stress which is the result of bullying and harassment. Recovery from an abusive experience such as bullying can take years, although the recovery period can be shortened by knowledge and insight. This is one of the purposes of Bully OnLine - to re-empower you with knowledge, insight and information.

Click here to see if an unpleasant experience in your life was bullying. Injury to health from prolonged negative stress is covered on the health page and if the injury has resulted in trauma with PTSD symptoms, click here. If you were bullied and harassed by one individual in particular, click here to see the profile of the serial bully. I estimate one person in thirty is a serial bully with this profile.
